Our History
Lily Rose Children’s Society was founded in April 2021 with a mission to empower marginalized rural women and children in Uganda, especially girls who are at risk of early marriage, exploitation, and being forced to leave school. Our heart is simple: Giving Hope to the Hopeless.
We are incorporated in British Columbia, Canada, and registered in Jinja, Uganda. From the beginning, Lily Rose has been an all-volunteer organization. That means we are not a large institution—we are ordinary people saying “yes” to a call, doing our best to respond with compassion, wisdom, and integrity.
Our work has grown through relationship and trust. We collaborate with local teachers and government education officials, and we partner with trusted leaders on the ground, including Heart of the Father Uganda. These partnerships help ensure that support is guided by local insight, real needs, and community accountability.
Lily Rose supports girls and families through a mix of practical and relational care. This includes educational support, counselling, reproductive health education, and transportation assistance when needed. We also provide support through a children’s centre that continues to develop as we strengthen safety measures, improve systems, and build capacity.
Since 2021, Lily Rose has directly served 1,000+ women and children through outreach and support initiatives. Many of the girls we serve are still on their education journey—but we have already seen lives changed. Some girls have shared that Lily Rose’s support helped save their lives. That is the weight and the privilege of this work.
Our motto is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” As we continue pursuing Canadian charity status and planning for future expansion, our focus remains the same—protecting girls, strengthening families, and building hope that lasts.
